The difference between a stressful exit and a smooth one often comes down to timing. Getting the sequencing right — what to do when — means the bond clean happens on an empty property, the inspection happens after the clean, and nothing falls through the cracks.
4–6 Weeks Out
- Give formal written notice to your property manager
- Book your removalists — Perth end-of-month slots fill early
- Review your ingoing Property Condition Report
- Note any repairs or touch-ups you want to arrange before exit
- Check your lease for carpet steam cleaning requirements
2 Weeks Out
- Book your professional bond clean for 1–2 days before the exit inspection
- Book carpet steam cleaning if required (can usually be bundled with the bond clean)
- Start decluttering — less to move means less to clean around
- Notify utilities providers (electricity, gas, internet) with your move-out date
Moving Day
- Complete the full move — everything out of the property
- Do a final sweep for items left in cupboards, under beds, in the garage
- Take out all rubbish including from external bins
Bond Clean Day (1–2 Days Before Inspection)
- Professional bond clean completed on empty property
- Carpet steam clean done if applicable
- Check light globes — replace any blown ones
- Take date-stamped photos of every room
Inspection Day
- Attend the inspection if possible
- Bring your ingoing condition report and cleaning receipts
- Have all keys, remotes, and fobs ready
- Request a copy of the outgoing condition report
Why the Sequence Matters
Cleaning before the property is empty means cleaning around furniture — property managers check behind it. Cleaning too far in advance means dust settles back on surfaces before the inspection. One to two days before is the sweet spot: fresh enough to show, done in time to fix anything that needs it.
We respond within 1 hour, 7 days a week.
